Edmond “Ed” L. Davis Jr.
March 20, 1930 – July 13, 2015

Salem – Ed, 85 was born in Gates,  the son of Ed Sr. and Maude Davis and always very proud of what he considered part of the early pioneering of the upper Willamette Valley. In his early years he served in the US Army during the Korean War and later settled in the Mill City and Stayton areas marrying Helen (Gisler) and serving as an Insurance Agent nearly all of his life, owning and operating Madison and Davis Insurance Agency in both downtown Mill City and Stayton for several years.

Ed was always very engaged in Community and Fraternal service as part of the Elks, Eagles and Lions Clubs’ routinely helping with the Fourth of July Parade and fireworks display in Stayton for many years as well as ANY volunteer activities in support of our disabled. Later in life he married Irene (Norris) and settled in the Salem area. He enjoyed cars, hunting, golfing, singing, dancing, and entertaining, …always talking to people and passing a friendly word to those he met.

He is survived by his wife: Irene Norris of Salem and her children: Rick Williams, Lyn Stoltz and Sharon Bowden; and his children: Lance (and Carrie) Davis of Honolulu, HI, Lisa (and Michael) Masat of Portland, and Kim Davis of Aumsville; and five grandchildren: Caleb, Elijah, Jacob and Gracie Bea Davis as well as Mackenzie Masat. Ed was preceded in death by his sister, Virginia Overlock.

The graveside service will be held at Fairview Cemetery in Gates at 2 p.m. on Friday, the 17th of July. Contributions may be made to Willamette Valley Hospice. Serving the Family, North Santiam Funeral Service, Stayton.
