Sublimity - Leonard, 85, died Saturday, May 23rd in Salem. He was born in Portland and lived in SE Portland, Milwaukie, Oregon City, Molalla, and the last 7 years in Sublimity. Leonard served in the US Army. He married Margaret Huff on May 6, 1951 in Portland; she preceded him in death on February 17, 2011.

Leonard owned and operated family-owned grocery stores and later sold real estate for over 30 years. He was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church in Sublimity and the Elks Lodge. Leonard enjoyed building bird houses and was a bird enthusiast, especially watching hummingbirds. He flipped houses and had a green thumb in gardening. His gift: The strength of listening and giving faith-filled fatherly advice.

He is survived by children: Val (Bruce) Holiday of Gresham, Gwen (Richard) Stutheit of Sublimity, Carla (Randy) Kum of Beaverton, Shari (Joe) Losch of Rancho Cucamonga, CA, Mark (JoAnne) Dieringer of Molalla and Brian (Charlene) Dieringer of Battleground, WA; brothers: Bernie (Ruth) Dieringer and Corky (Therese) Dieringer; brother-in-law: Joe Steiert; 13 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

Recitation of the Rosary will be Thursday, May 28, 2015 at 10:30 am followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am, both at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Sublimity. Interment will be in St. Boniface Cemetery, Sublimity. In lieu of flowers, please send contributions to Catholic Broadcasting Northwest PO Box 5888 Portland, OR 97228.
