Jimmy D. “Trucker” Fortune
May 15, 1943 – November 23, 2015

Jefferson – Jimmy, 72, passed away peacefully on Monday in Salem. He was born in Houston, TX, moving to Oakland, OR as a young man, living in Cottage Grove from 1963-1977 in Albany from 1977 – 2003 and to Jefferson in 2003. Jimmy worked at Bohemia Plywood Mill prior to hauling chips for Willamette Industries. In 1981, he accomplished his life long dream of becoming an Owner Operator, hauling a large variety of products, which he spent the next 30 years running the I-5 corridor.

Jimmy was a charter member of American Street Masters. He enjoyed yard work, cars and loved his grandkids. Jimmy married Dixie Tonole on March 28, 1964 in Cottage Grove.

He is survived by his wife: Dixie of Jefferson; children: Shelley R. (Jason) Skeen of Jefferson and Tony (Teresa) Fortune of Aliso Viejo, CA; grandchildren: Shawna R. Ellis and Kyle W. Ellis both of Jefferson; grand dog: Taz Fortune of Aliso Viejo, CA.  

There will  be a Celebration of Life held on December 19th, 2015 at the American Legion Hall in Albany from 1:30pm-5pm. Serving the family, North Santiam Funeral Service, Stayton.
