Marilyn V. Odenthal
September 15, 1931 – July 27, 2015

Stayton – Marilyn V. (James) Odenthal was born in Quinter, KS on September 15, 1931 and lived most of her life in the Stayton area.  She passed away on July 27, 2015. Marilyn married Dean L. Odenthal on September 1, 1952 in Jordan, and together they raised a family and owned and operated Stayton Pharmacy and Odenthal’s Pharmacy for over 35 years. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, needlework and being a “Grandma”.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband Dean; brothers: Ed, Bob, Vernon, Harold, and Bill James; sister, Irene Coakley; and granddaughters: Amy and Beth. She is survived by her children: Deanne (Duane) Heuberger of Stayton, Susan (Dale) Goodman of Goldendale, Mike (Karen) Odenthal of Stayton, Patty (Dick) Terriere of Portland, Jon (Kathy) Odenthal of Aumsville and Paul (Janet) Odenthal of Gulfport, MS; her brother, Richard James of Troutdale; and 12 grandchildren.

Vigil service will be Tuesday, August 4 at 6:30 pm and Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, August 5 at 11:00 am; both at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Stayton, where she was a member. Interment will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Stayton. Contributions may be made to Regis High School or St. Mary Elementary School. Serving the family - North Santiam Funeral Service.
