Rourke Brown
September 15, 1953 – December 10, 2016

Jefferson –On December 10th we said goodbye for now to our best friend. Rourke was born in Salem and has lived most of his life in Jefferson. He married Debbie Hoffhines on April 12, 1980 in Salem. Rourke worked as a supervisor for Boise Cascade for over 36 years.

Fishing was a passion in Rourke’s life. He found great joy in hooking a fish and allowing someone else to land it. Rourke was also a very avid bow hunter, hunting both elk and deer and making his own arrows from Surewood Shafts. He was a member of TAO (Traditional Archers of Oregon). Rourke was an incredible husband, father and grandfather.

He is survived by his wife: Debbie of Jefferson; parents: Robert and Irene Bennett-Brown of Jefferson; sons: Carson Brown of Stayton, Chase (Marcy) Brown of Tygh Valley, and Chad (Leah) Brown of Salem; brother: Corey (Melanie) Brown of Vancouver, WA; sisters: Melia (Rich) Ragone and Shana (Tony) Chandler both of Silverton; and 6 grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be Sunday, January 8, 2017 from 1pm to 5pm at Kirk’s Ferry & Trading Post in Brownsville, Oregon. Our family has been so blessed by the love and  generosity of so many. We look forward to a gathering with great company. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to one’s favorite charity in his name. Serving the family, North Santiam Funeral Service, Stayton.
