–On December 10th we said goodbye for now to our best
friend. Rourke was born in Salem and has lived most of his
life in Jefferson. He married Debbie Hoffhines on April 12,
1980 in Salem. Rourke worked as a supervisor for Boise Cascade
for over 36 years.
was a passion in Rourke’s life. He found great joy in
hooking a fish and allowing someone else to land it. Rourke
was also a very avid bow hunter, hunting both elk and deer and
making his own arrows from Surewood Shafts. He was a member of
TAO (Traditional Archers of Oregon). Rourke was an incredible
husband, father and grandfather.
survived by his wife: Debbie of Jefferson; parents: Robert and
Irene Bennett-Brown of Jefferson; sons: Carson Brown of
Stayton, Chase (Marcy) Brown of Tygh Valley, and Chad (Leah)
Brown of Salem; brother: Corey (Melanie) Brown of Vancouver,
WA; sisters: Melia (Rich) Ragone and Shana (Tony) Chandler
both of Silverton; and 6 grandchildren.
Celebration of Life will be Sunday, January 8, 2017 from 1pm
to 5pm at Kirk’s Ferry & Trading Post in
Brownsville, Oregon. Our family has
been so blessed by the love and generosity
of so many. We look forward to a gathering with great
company. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to
