Richard “Rick” E. DeHut
January 18, 1972 – May 29, 2016

Sublimity – Rick, 44, died Sunday, May 29 in Sublimity. He was born in Salem and lived most of his life in the Willamette Valley. Rick lived in Pasco, WA and worked for Simplot Feedlot then at Doerfler Farms and later was a self-employed horse shoer. He raised cattle and hay and also trained horses, he was a true Cowboy. Rick was a member of Cascade View Free Methodist Church in Sublimity. He married Margaret Weber on January 8, 2000 in Salem.

Rick is survived by his wife: Margaret of Sublimity; father and step-mother: Marvin and Peggy DeHut of Salem; sisters: Kimberly Stacy of Kingsport, TN, Nicole Walczak of Mill City and Dana Saunders of Grandview, WA; step-sons: David Shaffer of Sublimity and Dan Shaffer of Salem; 2 grandchildren and many cousins, uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Linda Smith.

Memorial service will be Sunday, June 5, 2016 at 3:00 pm at Cascade View Free Methodist Church in Sublimity. Serving the family, North Santiam Funeral Service, Stayton.
