E. “Lisel” R. Grimm

April 4, 1950 – January 6, 2016

Stayton – Lisel, 65, died January 6 in Salem. She was born in Puyallup, WA, living on Whidbey Island, WA moving to Salem in 1973, Aumsville for 8 years and living the last 32 years in Stayton. Lisel married Dale Grimm on October 4, 1969 in Langley, WA.

She worked as assistant manager at the Copper Kitchen in Salem for 8 years, assistant manager at Dairy Queen for 6 years and as a teacher’s aide for special education at North Santiam School District for 15 years. Lisel was very musical playing both Clarinet and Saxophone for her high school band and later singing in her church choir and in Festival Chorale. She collected thimbles and enjoyed crocheting making many afghans.

Lisel is survived by her husband: Dale of Stayton; son: Eric Grimm of Stayton; brothers: Rudy Volkmann of Georgia and Heiko Volkmann of Tennessee. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister.

Memorial service will be Saturday, January 23, 2016 at 2:00 pm at Foothills Church in Stayton, where she was a member. Serving the family, North Santiam Funeral Service, Stayton.
