Curtis S. Plunkett
April 29,1918 – May 29,2016

Sublimity - Curtis, 98, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 29,2016. Curtis was born in Broken Bow, OK to O.J. & Doxie Plunkett. When he was in high school he played baseball and football and enjoyed singing in a gospel quartet. After high school he served our country for 2 years in the CCC’s and then he married the love of his life, Edith Markham in 1940, and together they had 4 children. He and his family moved to Oregon in 1947 where he worked in the wood industry until he retired. He was an avid fisherman, hunter and gardener. He had a great sense of humor and loved to tease everyone.

Curtis is survived by his wife of 76 years, Edith, children; Jim Plunkett, Bill Plunkett, Joyce (George) Pflug and Kay (Jeff) Branch; grandchildren: Kim, Cindy, Christy, Scott, Kathi and Angie; 16 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandson.

A special thanks to the staff at Elliott Residence in Sublimity and Willamette Valley Hospice for their loving care and kindness to him. Graveside service will be held Friday, June 3rd at 1:00 pm at Lone Oak Cemetery in Stayton. Serving the family, North Santiam Funeral Service, Stayton.
