Richard “Dick” Lex Rea
August 28, 1931 – June 12, 2016

Aumsville - Richard “Dick” Lex Rea was born on August 28, 1931. He passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 12, 2016 at the age of 84. He was born in Rainier Oregon to Lex and Cordelia Rea. Dick was a loving husband, dad, grandpa and great—grandpa. His smile and laugh warmed up a room.

Dick spent most of his life in the Willamette Valley where he met Marlene Foltz on a blind date and later they were married in Stayton, Oregon. He was a wonderful father and provider to four children that he adored. Dick worked at lumber mills, farmed and ended up starting his own company, Rea Construction building homes with his sons Bob and Jeff. He shared many stories and photos from his time in the Navy during the Korean War. Dick was a member of the VFW in Stayton, Oregon.

He is survived by his wife Marlene Rea that he was married to for 63 years, his daughter Sherry Sopko of Seaside, Oregon, son Bob Rea of Aumsville, Oregon, daughter Kathy Rea of Keizer, Oregon and son Jeff Rea of Sheridan, Oregon, eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be at the home place at 10455 Mix Rd. SE, Aumsville on Saturday, June 18th at 11:00 a.m. Serving the family, North Santiam Funeral Service, Stayton.
