Richard (Dick) Lyle
Rogers 77, of Sweet Home OR. Went home to be
with his Lord and Savior on October 10, 2016 at Peace Health
Hospital in Springfield, OR due to complications of heart
He was born December
1, 1938 in Mill City, OR to Glen and Edith Rogers. He
attended elementary school in Mehama and Stayton and graduated
from Stayton Union High School in 1958.
He served in the
U.S. Army 1962 to 1964. He was stationed in Korea
and received an honorable discharge in Sept. 1964 as a SP4.
He was Blessed with three
wonderful wives. He married Doris Bloom in 1964, they
were married 38 years. Doris died at Providence
Centralia Hospital March of 2000. Second marriage to
Beverly Gipson in June 2000, they were married for 9 years.
Beverly died at Swedish Hospital in Seattle September 2009.
He leaves behind his
beloved wife Valora who he married August 2013, they were
married 3 years. Valora, resides in their summer home in Sweet
Home OR. and in Yama AZ in the winter.
Dick was an active
member (choir member, soloist and head usher) of New Life
Church in Longview prior to moving to Sweet Home. He
loved to sing, enjoyed classical, gospel and country music. Was
a homebody and liked to just "dink around".
Dick loved his family very much. Was always there to help in
times of need.
Dick is survived by
his wife Valora of Sweet Home, brother Edward (Ted) Rogers of
Salem. Eight step-children and many nieces and nephews.
Dick was preceded in death by his mother and father, brothers
Glen and Robert, sisters Leona and Irene.
of Life will be Saturday October 29th, 1:00 pm at Mehama
Community Church. Private interment will
be at Little Falls Cemetery, Vader, WA. Arrangement by
