Marguerite A. Silbernagel

Stayton Marguerite, 83, died Tuesday, May 31 in Stayton. She was born in Gilbertsville, IA to Matt and Ida Frost, after a short stay in California, her family moved to Sublimity when she was 5. Marguerite graduated from St. Boniface High School in 1950. She worked at the Star Theatre while in high school and later for Ed Bell.

Marguerite married Jerry Silbernagel on April 3, 1951 in Stayton. They lived in Portland from 1956 until 1991, and while living there, she worked for Multnomah County for 19 years in the Accounting Department. After retirement they moved to Stayton and she worked at the Stayton Food Bank. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Marguerite enjoyed stained glass, crocheting, knitting, playing cards, reading and she loved traveling, as they were snowbirds for 20 years to Yuma, AZ.

She is survived by her husband: Jerry of Stayton; children: Mike (Patty) Silbernagel of Scio, Chris (Georgie) Silbernagel of LaGrande, Den (Fran) Silbernagel of Stayton and Tami (Vince) Boedigheimer of Portland; brother: Greg Frost of Stayton; sisters: Joan Silbernagel of Stayton and Charleen Hallam of Bend; 7 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by brother Giles Frost.

Vigil service will be Thursday, June 2, 2016 at 7:30 pm and Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, June 3, 2016 at 10:30 am at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Stayton. Interment in St. Mary Cemetery, Stayton. Serving the family, North Santiam Funeral Service, Stayton.
