She was preceded in death by her husband, Stephen
George Crouch, her son, Chauncey Chester Crouch, her brothers
Elisha Richmond Watrous, Edward Arnold Watrous, Reverend
Harold Alden Watrous, and her grandsons, Joseph Stephen Ponder
and Kenneth David Ponder.
her sister, Irene Elizabeth Ann (Watrous) Schultz of Mystic,
CT and her brother, Glen Morton Watrous of Savannah, Ga,
children Kathleen Louise Ponder of Woodburn, OR, George
Stephen Crouch Sr. of Springfield, OR, Charlotte Fay Kardokus
of Salem, OR, Stephana Jennie Crouch of Aumsville, OR, Elray
Glen Crouch of Norwich, CT, and Deborah Jean Helen Crouch of
Springfield, MO. Also surviving are numerous grandchildren,
great grandchildren, and many nephews and nieces who loved
their Aunt Louise.
her childhood sweetheart and after raising seven children, her
husbandís work as an independent nurseryman took them to
many places throughout the United States. Louise spoke of
places such as Avery Island, LA, the beautiful state of Maine,
and the numerous other sites they visited, including Canada.
Upon retiring, Louise and Stephen settled in Quartzsite, AZ
where they lived until moving to Salem, OR in 2005.
Stephenís death in 2006, Louise settled in the Englewood
West Apartments in Salem where she had many friends and good
times. After her memory began to fail, she was lovingly
relocated to Emerald Gardens Memory Care in Woodburn, OR,
where she shared her zest for living with her humor and feisty
attitude. A Christian woman, she never hesitated to share
Godís word with others. She is deeply missed by all those
whose lives she touched.
service will be held at Lone Oak Cemetery on N 3rd Ave in
Stayton OR at 2:30 pm on Friday, September 15, 2017, where she
will be laid to rest with Stephen, her husband of almost 58
