Beloved wife and
mother, Jean Deeter was taken Home to be with her Savior after
battling cancer for most of the past year.
Jean was born in Omaha, Nebraska to Arno and Linda
Wiebe. Her father
being a pastor, she spent time in many locations growing up,
including Manitoba, Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, Oregon, and
Fresno Pacific College as a freshman, she met Bill Deeter in
January 1966. They
were married on October 18, 1968, and remained committed to
each other in faith and love until she went to be with the
Lord. In 1973,
they packed a Rambler station wagon and moved to Oregon to
purchase a business and build the home that they would raise
their family in. Jean
also worked for Norpac Foods in Stayton for nearly 40 years,
only taking time off to have two sons, Jonathan and David
before she finally retired in 2013.
Jean loved music.
She was a wonderfully talented singer and piano player, and
was the pianist at Canyon Bible Fellowship in Lyons for over 4
decades. Jean also served as church treasurer for 15 years.
She enjoyed gardening, reading, lunching with friends,
and walking at a pace that most people jog at.
Her numerous friends
and family will greatly miss her smile and her winsome spirit.
Jean is survived by her husband of nearly 49 years,
Bill; sister Sylvia Regier; brothers Phil Wiebe and Steve
Wiebe; and sons Jonathan Deeter and David Deeter.
A service for Jean
will be on Saturday, August 26 at 10:30am at Canyon Bible
Fellowship, 446 Cedar St, Lyons, OR with a shared meal and remembrances time
to follow at the same location.
Thank you to everyone who wrote, visited,
encouraged, prayed, and continue to pray for the family.
Contributions in Jean's honor can be made to
