Dorothy Mae Hansen
April 19, 1936 - July 22, 2017

Stayton – Dorothy, 81, died July 22 in Stayton. She was born in Union and lived in Oregon, Idaho, Montana and Washington until settling in Stayton in 1964. Dorothy married Carl Hansen on December 10, 1950 in Weiser, ID, he preceded her in death on September 1, 2010. She worked at Norpac for 14 years and later owned and operated Fish Haven and More in Stayton for 10 years.

Dorothy was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Stayton Ward and FEW the women’s firefighter’s auxiliary. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, quilting and gardening.

Dorothy is survived by children: Carl “Dewayne” (Leathy) Hansen of Missoula, MT, Rodney (Loraine) Hansen of Aumsville, Jerry (Denise) Hansen of Salem, Rosemarie Johnson of Philomath, Lori (Randy) Gray of Stayton, Douglas (Tori) Hansen of Mehama and Debbie Bierbower of Amity; brothers: Dan Hill of Lima, MT and Tom Hill of Rigby, ID; sister: Sharon Chiavowlski of Strandquist, MN; 21 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by brother, Lawrence “Spike” Hill.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, August 3 at 10:00 am at Lone Oak Cemetery in Stayton. Contributions may be made to SVFPC1 (Stayton Volunteer Fire Protection Company #1). Serving the family, North Santiam Funeral Service, Stayton.
