Carol L. Hartman
October 1, 1924 – April 27, 2017

Sublimity – Carol, 92, died April 27 in Salem. She was born in Castle Rock, WA. She moved to Bigfork, MT where she raised her family before moving to Fairbanks, AK. She moved to Oregon City in 1978 where she and her husband resided for 28 years before moving to Dallas for 4 years. Carol spent the last 4 years of her life in Sublimity.

Carol worked as a rosie the riveter in the shipyards during WW II, also working for Boeing. She worked for many years as a waitress. She attended Calvary Chapel in Dallas and Mehama Community Church in Mehama. Carol was a member of the Rebekah’s. She was an avid high school sports fan of her children and grandchildren. Carol enjoyed going to the beach and digging for razor clams. Most important to her was her family and the deep love that she had for them.

Carol married E. Boyd Hartman on April 15, 1964 in Coeur d Alene, ID, he preceded her in death on March 27, 2013. She is survived by children: Gary (Rhonda) Pierce of Dallas, Pete (Fern) Pierce of Stayton, Lora Lee (Mark) Brekhus of Scottsdale, AZ, Bob (Eva) Hartman of Moses Lake, WA, Tom (Sheryl) Hartman of Chugiak, AK and Kathy (Walt) Schlotfeut of Napa Valley, CA; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-granddaughter. Carol was preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Glenn, and a grandson, Eric Pierce.

A private family and friends service will be held at a later date. Serving the family, North Santiam Funeral Service, Stayton.
