Ronald J. Silbernagel
August 20, 1936 February 11, 2017

Aumsville Ron, 80, passed away on February 11 in Salem. He was born at the family home near Scio to George and Teresa Silbernagel. Ron married Ruth Gilbert on April 19, 1958 in Stayton. He worked for Wilco Co-op for a few years through high school. Ron then worked for Freres Lumber Co at the Veneer Plant in Lyons for 23 years. He then worked for Norpac foods from 1978 until he retired in 2001.

Ron enjoyed woodworking, visiting with extended family, fishing, hunting, and taking day long road trips with Ruth. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Stayton and the Catholic Order of Foresters.

Ron is survived by his wife of 58 years, Ruth; children: Jeffrey (Terisa), Kevin (Dana), Kent (Toni) and Amy (Jerry) Fischer; brothers: Alan (Arnolda) and Glen (ZoeAnne); sister: Darlene (Jerry) Adams; grandchildren: David(Kayla) Lee, Casey (Jennifer), Shanna Lee, Andrew (Kimberly), Sally (Charles) Beckwith, Michelle, Shane (Ashley) Davidson, Valerie (Kyle) Gilson, Matthew (Cheri), Jacob Fischer, Nicole (Nathan Jones) and Mary Fischer and  great-grandchildren: Dylan, McKenna, Molly, Chloe, Hailey, Aaron, Easton, Kinnlee and Madison.

Vigil service will be Thursday, February 16, 2017 at 6:00 pm and Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, February 17, 2017 at 11:00 am both at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Stayton. Interment will be in St. Mary Cemetery in Stayton. Contributions may be made to the Diabetes Association or the Church. Serving the family, North Santiam Funeral Service, Stayton.
