Conrad N. Spenner
August 19, 1954 – December 26, 2017

Sublimity – Conrad, 63, died Tuesday, December 26 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born in Stayton and lived in the Sublimity area all of his life. Conrad married Jacquie Witherspoon on May 23, 1981 in Salem. He attended OSU and was a member of AGR fraternity. Conrad earned his real estate license after college but “sitting inside” was not for him.  So he returned to the occupation he loved, farming.  Conrad worked for many local farmers in his early life and then started his own custom applicator business, owning and operating Coon Hollow Spray Service from 1979 until 1997, and later working for Wilco Farmers in the agronomy department.

He was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church and also regularly attended St Mary’s in Shaw.  Conrad was a 4th degree Knights of Columbus. Conrad enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, gardening, woodworking, farming, socializing, crossword puzzles, board games and “checking the wheat”.

He is survived by his wife: Jacquie Spenner of Aumsville; sons: Matthew (Crystal) Spenner of Stayton, Brian Spenner and Steven Spenner both of Aumsville; brothers: Perry (Dawnette) Spenner of Marion and Clyde Spenner of Sublimity; sisters: Janice (Loren) Bass of Stayton, Drusilla (Dana) Jennings of Gates, Judy (Mike) Pelletier of Sublimity, Michele Spenner of Stayton and Carla (Jim) Palmer of Pratum. Conrad was preceded in death by his parents Ed and Mary June Spenner, infant daughter Caroline Spenner, and Uncle Walter Spenner.

Conrad will be remembered for his big personality, witty one liners, and his gift of gab.  Conrad always treated people he met as friends.  When asked “who was that”, his response was always, “Oh, I don’t know, somebody I just met.

Recitation of the Rosary will be Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at 7:00 pm and Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at 11:00 am, both at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Sublimity. Interment will follow in St. Boniface Cemetery. Contributions may be made to Oregon Right to Life or Regis St. Mary Catholic School. Serving the family, North Santiam Funeral Service, Stayton.
