– James Michael Uffelman, 77, died Friday, Dec. 8, in Salem
Hospital. The son of Edward Beebe and Margaret (Mayer)
Uffelman, he was born Dec. 5, 1940, in Portland. He and his
wife, Mary, lived for many years at Seal Rock, near Newport.
He was preceded in death by his father, Edward; sisters, Nancy
Ann Uffelman and Mary Jill Vanderbloemen; his wife, Mary
Elizabeth (Works) Uffelman, and brother-in-law, Michael Works.
survived by his mother, Margaret, of Stayton; sisters, Judy
Lenchitsky, of Boring, Johanne Samek, of Sublimity, and Peggy
Savage, of Molalla; brothers, John Uffelman, of Portland, and
Joseph Uffelman, of Stayton; sons, David Herman, Mexico, Tom
Herman, Montana, Michael Herman, Arizona, Larry Herman,
Redmond, and daughter, Liane Hein, of Canby; 16 grandchildren,
seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 15,
2017, at Immaculate Conception Church, in Stayton. Internment
will be at St. Mary Cemetery, in Stayton. A reception for
family and friends at the Immaculate Conception parish hall
