Mill City – Joe,
86, died April 27 in Stayton. He was born in Jordan, grew up
in Victor Point and lived all of his adult life in Mill City.
Joe farmed in Victor Point in his younger years, served in the
US Navy during the Korean War, drove log truck and then worked
for Frank Lumber Company as a mill worker for over 32 years.
He was a member of St. Catherine’s Catholic Church in Mill
City, in which he was very involved, and he was also a member
of the Eagles and the Knights of Columbus.
Genevieve Letourneau, she preceded him in 1993, later he
married Billie Jeanne Mahaney who preceded him in death in
2005. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening.
Joe is survived by
brothers: Frank “Pete” (Sue) Yost of Sublimity and Ben
(Judy) Yost of Jordan; and sister: Theresa Ogren of Woodburn.
He was preceded in death by brothers, Edward, Albert, Paul and
Richard, and sister, Bernadine Beamish.
Mass of Christian
burial will be on Saturday, May 6, 2017 at 11:00 am at Our
Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Jordan. Interment will be
in Jordan Pioneer Cemetery. Contributions may be made to St.
Catherine’s Catholic Church in Mill City in his name.
