Pastor Charles F. ”Chuck” Baldwin
February 5, 1936 – May 8, 2018
– Charles, 82, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 8,
2018. He was born in Poplar, MT and lived many different
places as a Pastor of many churches. Pastor Chuck had a
ministry that spanned 60 years as an ordained minister with
the Assemblies of God. He married Pauline Jones on August 31,
1957 in Portland. Straight out of Bethany Bible College,
Pastor Chuck pioneered the Assembly of God Church in Hailey,
ID. He went on to Pastor: Cambridge,
ID, Gardnerville, NV, Winnemucca, NV, Rio Vista, CA where he
built the first church building, Stayton OR, Seward, AK, and
his last church in Tide OR.
Jesus, he also worked all of his life as a carpenter.
He built many houses, and remodeled many of his
churches. Pastor Chuck loved hunting, fishing, and
woodworking, making many beautiful gun stocks and other
projects, especially with black walnut. At one time he had his
pilot’s license and flew airplanes in Alaska. Most of all he
loved Jesus, and told everyone he met about Jesus. Pastor
Chuck loved “The Word” and was an expert on Bible
is survived by his wife: Pauline of Stayton; sons: Charles
Steven (Elizabeth) Baldwin of Stayton and John Douglas Baldwin
of Stayton; brothers: Daniel and Gilbert Baldwin; sisters:
Melva Woods and Mae Edith Foster; grandchildren: Charles S.
(Megan) Baldwin Jr., Andrew (Fiancé Stevie) Baldwin and
Katelyn (Cory) Pyritz; and 3 great-granddaughters. Pastor
Chuck was preceded in death by his older brother, John.
memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 26th at 1:00 pm
at New Hope Community Church, 657 N Second Avenue, in Stayton, where he was a member
and taught the Adult Sunday School Class. Serving the family, North
Santiam Funeral Service, Stayton.
