Kenneth D. Champ
September 2, 1947 - May 15, 2018

Salem - Kenneth Dale Champ passed away peacefully in his sleep, May 15, 2018 at Brookdale Memory Care Facility in Salem, OR. at the age of 70. Ken was born September 2, 1947, to parents, Dale and Mildred Champ. Ken grew up in Mehama, OR., attending school in Mehama, Stayton Grade School and Stayton Union High School. After High School he attended OTI(now OIT) in Klamath Falls, OR. Ken joined the Navy Reserves in 1968. Shortly after joining he was sent to Vietnam.

Ken married Vicki Grosso, February 17, 1968 in Stayton. He worked for Norpac in Stayton before working for Garmin AT in Salem. Ken loved boating, boat racing, camping, water skiing, watching Nascar and all classic cars.  Ken volunteered for the Lyons Rural Fire Department as a fireman and EMT for 28 years. He also was board president of North Santiam Federal Credit Union in Stayton for some years. He served on the school board at Stayton Union High School. Ken was a member of the Willamette Valley Street Rods Club for 15 years and the RoadKill Kruzers.

Ken is survived by his wife Vicki of 50 years, daughters Amy Hollinger(Matt), Darcy MacDermid(Troy), granddaughters, Shayla, Morgan, Payton and sister Renee Hendricks. Ken was preceded in death by his parents.

A celebration of Kenís life will be 11am Tuesday, June 19, 2018, at Morning Star Community Church, 4775 27th Avenue SE, Salem, OR.. There will be special parking for classic cars.
