– Roseann, 76, died January 5th in Albany. She was born in
Dubuque, IA. At age 8 her family moved to New Hampton, IA. In
1956 her family moved to San Diego, CA, where her father had
gotten a job at Ryan Aeronautics. After graduating from high
school in 1960, Roseann worked as a secretary at Ryan
Aeronautics. She met her husband Joseph Cowlishaw, also from
New Hampton, in 1960, while he was serving in the U.S. Navy.
They were married on June 8, 1963 in San Diego, CA. They
settled in Spring Valley, CA, and raised two of their
1973, the family moved north to Scio, OR, where they purchased
a small farm in the country and added a third child to their
household. It was here where Roseann began a career as a legal
secretary. She first worked for a local attorney and then
moved on to spend many years at the Marion County District
Attorney’s office. She ended her career working as a
paralegal for private law firm in Salem.
was very active in Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. She
loved the Lord, her family and her work. Roseann spent her
free time reading, sewing, crocheting and knitting. Roseann
will be remembered for her kindness and boundless compassion.
She was tireless in her support of family and friends and
never shied away from helping someone in need.

Keizer, Rick (with wife, Nancy) of Winfield, KS, and Jason of
Portland; sisters: Donna Gillette of Salem and Kathleen
Roberts of Keizer; grandson: Evan Cowlishaw of Winfield KS;
nieces: Lacy John and Callie Roberts of Salem; and nephews:
Adam Roberts, Mason Roberts and Tyson John of Salem.
