Eldon E. Silbernagel
October 29, 1939 August 14, 2018

Stayton Eldon, 78, died August 14 in Albany. He was born and raised in Jordan and lived most of his life in the Jordan and Stayton area. Eldon married Carol Schumacher on August 29, 1959 in Sublimity, she preceded him in death on July 15, 2009. He worked as a bread truck driver/salesman for over 35 years, the last for Williams and Franz. Eldon enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, gardening and bird watching. Sporting events were very special to him, especially when watching his grandchildren play at both St. Mary and Regis schools, and also the Blazers and the Mariners. Eldon was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Catholic Order of Foresters, and the Knights of Columbus.

He is survived by his children: Darin (Lisa) Silbernagel of Monmouth, Jill (Jon) Heuberger of Sublimity, Heidi (Steve) Ripp of Stayton and Scott (Loni) Silbernagel of Vancouver, WA; brothers: Jerry Silbernagel of Stayton and Ted Silbernagel of Jordan; sister: Marion Frichtl of Salem; 9 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

Recitation of Rosary will be Friday, August 17, 2018 at 6:00 pm and Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, August 18, 2018 at 10:00 am both at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Stayton. Viewing will be Friday, August 17, 2018 from 4-8 pm. Interment will be in St. Mary Cemetery in Stayton. Contributions may be made to Regis St. Mary Catholic Schools. Serving the family, North Santiam Funeral Service, Stayton.
