Monica “Anne” Stuckart met her best friend, for whom she
served her life, Jesus Christ.
Monica was born to
Hubert and Clara (Ambrose) Stuckart on February 12, 1926 in
Iowa. The Stuckart family then migrated to Oregon when Monica
was 7 years old. The remainder of her childhood was spent in
Monica entered St
Mary’s of the Valley Convent and took the name Sister Anne
Marie at age 21. She had a very strong devotion to the
Catholic faith, as well as a love for painting and art.
In 1969, her brother
John asked her to help raise his 6 children after his wife,
Monica (Traeger) Stuckart passed away. Monica loved and valued
her ‘adopted’ children and grandchildren very much as she
played an important ‘motherly’ role to all of them. We
have all been fortunate to receive her gifts of unconditional
love, faithfulness, forgiveness, humor, and creativity. She
had a strong bond with her special nieces and nephews for the
remainder of her time on earth.
Monica is preceded
in death by her parents and brothers, Fritz, Bob, Paul, Ray
and John and sisters, Marie Krantz and Bernadine Bender. She
is survived by her sisters Helen Nelson, Margaret Bork and
brother Ted (Joann) Stuckart. Also surviving numerous nieces
and nephews including, Janice Fleener, Paula Gardner, Steve
Stuckart, Maureen Watkins, Susie Diede and Tony Stuckart and
their children who became her grandchildren.
There will be a
viewing Friday, January 19th at 9:30 am with the rosary following at 10:00
am. The funeral mass will begin at 10:30 am at St. Boniface
Catholic Church in Sublimity Oregon.
