Rosemary Higgins

July 14, 1946 —October 30, 2019

Rosemary Higgins was born on July 14, 1946, in Tacoma, Washington to Lucius and Maybel May Pease.  As a young person, Rosemary worked at a Baptist church in Tacoma as a clown and with puppets.  On November 16, 1967, Rosemary was married to Robert Higgins.  They were married for over 48 years.  Though Rosemary and Bob had no children of their own, they managed to spoil many little creatures in their home, especially and ultimately their beloved dog, Tootsie.

Rosemary worked as a housewife, and at a gift store and at two second-hand stores.  She had a talent for drawing flowers and butterflies with colored pencils.  She was able to help others learn to do the same.  And she joyfully shared her pictures and cards with others.

Two of Rosemary’s favorite Gospel hymns were “I Need Thee Every Hour” and “This World Is Not My Home”.  Two of her favorite singers were Elvis Presley and Jim Reeves.

After a long illness that weakened her physically, Rosemary was lovingly cared for by hospice workers and home care workers from various organizations.  She was loved and cared for by her friends from the Mehama Community Church and Stayton Christian Church.  Rosemary Higgins passed from this life into the eternal rest that is promised in Jesus Christ, her Lord and Savior.  She was predeceased by her husband, Robert, who passed away in July of 2016, and her sister, Patty Ann Watson.  Her sojourn on earth was 73 years, 3 months and 16 days.  There was a longing in her heart for the day that she would see Jesus face to face, and be gathered into His presence with those she loved on earth.  May she rest in peace!
