David Wayne Black

Jefferson, OR - David, 68, passed away. He was born in Lebanon to Wayne and Nadine Black on July 30, 1951. David grew up on his grand-parents farm in Sweet Home, lived in Lebanon and Albany as a teen-ager and eventually settled in Jefferson. He married Peggy Martin on December 30, 2011 in Tillamook. David was a musician all his life and played guitar, bass and sang vocals. His most recent bands were Jefferson Parks Band and Dave Black and Friends Band. Recently he had been playing locally in Salem, Keizer and Albany. As a resident of Jefferson, he participated in the Mint Festival Frog Jump the last 2 years. David was affiliated with the Eagles Lodge in Albany and the Morning Star Grange in Millersburg. He enjoyed constructing plastic car models, motorcycle rides and going to the beach.

He is preceded in death by his parents: Wayne Black and Nadine Barker; he is survived by his wife Peggy Black of Jefferson; his children Tiffani (Jeremiah) Kealiher of Independence; Paula White of Jefferson; his cousin; Brenda Graber of Sweet Home; grand-children; Alyssa, Brandon, Nicolas and Mercy.

Services to be held at a later date. Contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society. Serving the family, North Santiam Funeral Service, Stayton.
