Sally Morse Blancke
July 28, 1931 May 12, 2020

Mill City Sally, 88, passed away in her home surrounded by family. She was born in Orange, New Jersey on July 28, 1931 to Archibald and Elizabeth Housby. Sally received her Bachelor's degree from Bob Jones University in Education.  Sally met Robert in the San Francisco Bay area where he was a high school teacher and counselor.  She married Robert E. Blancke in Towaco, New Jersey on December 26, 1960. While raising their children in San Mateo, CA, Sally became an elementary school teacher and also a principal. She started the Westminster Day School and spent 41 years working in education.

In 2008 Robert and Sally moved to Mill City to join their daughters in Oregon after the girls completed college. Sally had many hobbies to keep her busy including sewing, playing the auto-harp and piano, architectural designing and her favorite reading. She would even read the dictionary for fun.  Sally was a Sunday school teacher, taught vacation bible school and led many bible study groups with her husband in their home over the years.

In 1968 Bob and Sally bought property on Ten Mile Lake, Lakeside OR.  They cleared the land and together they built a summer home that was finished in 1973.  Sally designed everything in the home and was even up on the roof laying the tar paper and shingles with Robert.  They spent every summer there together with family.

Sally is preceded in death by her parents: Archibald and Elizabeth Housby; by her son: Peter Blancke of San Mateo, California; she is survived by her daughters: Elizabeth (Todd) Reeser of Mill City; Aimee (Steve) Sazama of La Pine; her brother Bill Housby of Milford, Pennsylvania; her grandchildren;  McKenzie Reeser of Salem; Lindsey and Hunter Reeser of Mill City; Chloee (Deion) Mock of Tigard; Sophia and Delaney Sazama of La Pine.
