Aumsville
– Darlene, 87, passed away on December 19th in
her home, surrounded by her family. She was born on March
20, 1933 in the historic Brown House in Stayton to Albert
and Dora (Murphy) Dozler. Darlene married Ron Meier on April
11, 1953 at Immaculate Conception Church in Stayton, where
she was a member. She was known in her family for making
homemade cinnamon rolls and clam chowder on Fridays during
lent, and for being a professional housekeeper. While her
children were young, Darlene helped pick pole beans,
strawberries and boysenberries. She thoroughly enjoyed
attending her children and grandchildrens, sporting and
drama events, rarely missing one.
Darlene is survived by her
husband: Ron; children: Mike Meier, Mindy (Bernie) Duman,
Ken and Janell (Daren) Dickey; sister: Mary Scott;
grandchildren: Brian (Heather) Duman, Jill (Jake) Denbrook,
Michael Zachary Meier, Camille Dickey, Dawson Dickey and
Drew Dickey; great-grandchildren: Brennan Duman, ViviAnne
Duman, Henry Denbrook and Evelyn Denbrook. She was preceded
in death by her brother, Bryce Dozler and son Rick Meier(obit).
Recitation of Rosary will be Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at
1:00 pm with Mass of Christian Burial at 1:30 pm both at
Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Stayton. Followed
by a Committal Service at 2:30 pm at St. Mary Cemetery,
Stayton. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to
Immaculate Conception Catholic Church or Regis Athletic
Association. Serving the family, North Santiam Funeral
