Rayford Leslie Stevens Sr.

Aumsville Ray, 86, passed away at home surrounded by family. He was born on December 22, 1933 in Howards Ridge, Missouri to Ralph and Una Lee Stevens. He attended West Stayton Elementary and Stayton High School. Ray joined the US Army in 1952 during the Korean war and was honorably discharged in 1954. Ray married Shirley Kline on December 22, 1956 in Stevenson, Washington after his service was complete. He worked for Willamette Plywood and then worked 27 years for Teledyne Wah Chang in Albany. Ray was a member of the Stayton Moose Lodge and his hobbies included his love for ham radios, hunting, fishing, photography, and gardening.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Ralph and Una Lee Stevens; his sister: Doris Stevens, brother John Stevens and his grandson: Duane John. Ray is survived by his loving wife Shirley Stevens of Aumsville; children: Leslie Stevens of Aumsville: Pamila (Robert) John of Aumsville; Connie (Kevin) Rubel of Stayton; Rayford Stevens Jr. of Stayton and sister Colleen Huddleston of Redmond and brother Ralph Stevens of Stayton. He was blessed with 5 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
