Alma Ruth Beutel
July 3, 1947 – January 16, 2021

Alma, 73, passed away on January 16, 2021 surrounded by her loving husband, daughters and brother. The world lost a great woman that day…. a great wife, a great mom, a great grandma, and as some of the grandchildren called her, “Nana the Great.” She was the family’s matriarch and the glue that held our family together. She will be extremely missed.

Alma was born July 3, 1947 to Jack and Ruth Rundle in Merced, California. She grew up in Merced and San Jose, California graduating from high school at Andrew Hill in San Jose. She then moved to Salem in 1969 and later to Stayton in 1977. After moving to Salem, Alma shared in the ownership and operation of Valley Orthopedic in Salem. She married Stephen Beutel on October 16, 1993, sharing 6 children from previous marriages. They then became the owner/operator of 2 businesses, Beutel Enterprises and Willamette Property Management. Her hobbies included her love for gardening, reading, bird watching and many travels in their RV.

Alma loved spending time with her family and her 7 grandchildren: Stephanie, Stephen, Jamie, Kyle, Mya, Faith and Max; her great grandchildren: Liannah and R.J. Alma is preceded in death by her son: Robert “Rob” Owens; her sister: Cathy Blakesley; and her brother: Bill Rundle. She is survived by her husband: Stephen Buetel of Stayton; brother: Don Rundle of Salem; children: Denise Mattson of Salem; Misty Haertel of Dallas; Shelly Beutel of Santa Barbara, California; and Mark Beutel of Reno, Nevada.
