MaryAnn 86, died March 19th in Salem. She was
born and raised in McKee, Oregon and went to school in Mt.
Angel, graduating from St. Mary’s Academy in 1953. She
married her high school sweetheart, Sylvester “Sy” Kottre
in 1955. Together they raised seven children after
settling down in Shaw. After the kids were all in school
MaryAnn went to work in the medical records department at
Salem Hospital and retired after 20 years, in 1993. She
was an active member of St, Mary’s Catholic Church in Shaw.
She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great
grandchildren. She enjoyed league bowling for many years
where she made many friends. She also loved playing
cards with friends and family, as well as her pinochle group.
MaryAnn was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Weinacht
Beyer, in 1940, and her father, John Beyer, in 1990; brothers
Joseph, Ernest, Alquin, and Carl; and grandson Tommy. She is
survived by her husband Sy; children Jean (Craig) Thomas of
Newberg; Thomas (Ingrid) Kottre of Anchorage, AK: Donna (Mike)
Greene of Canby; James (Amy) Kottre of Sublimity; Ray (Sheila)
Kottre of Shaw; Robert (Joan) Kottre of MacLeay; and Sherry
(Mike) of Cottage Grove; brothers John Beyer of Mt. Angel;
Walter Beyer of Salem; Alfred Beyer of Salem; Jim Beyer, of
Lebanon; and her sister and best friend Margaret, of Salem; as
well as her 18 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
will be at 10:30 am on Thursday March 25, 2021 followed by
Mass of Christian burial at 11:00 am. Both services will be
held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Shaw, Oregon.
Interment will follow in the St. Mary’s Cemetery in Shaw. Serving
