Kathleen “Kathie” E. Tyler
January 30, 1945 – January 2, 2021

Stayton – Kathie, 75, passed away surrounded by family at her home in Stayton. She was born on January 30, 1945 to Louis and Marian Thurber in Klamath Falls. Kathie got her bachelor’s degree in education from Oregon State University. She married Wayne Tyler in Roseburg on June, 10, 1967 and they settled in Stayton raising 2 children together. Kathie was a dedicated member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Her love for teaching lasted for 36 years at St. Mary Elementary School in Stayton. Her hobbies included her love for reading.

Kathie is survived by her loving husband: Wayne Tyler of Stayton; brother: Tom Thurber of Kent, Washington; and her sister: Luanne Starr of Albany; her children: Tiffany (Jason) Benson of Columbia, Missouri and Todd (Christy) Tyler of Denver, Colorado; 7 grand-children: Kendrick Miotke, Emily Dekanu, Thomas Asher Benson, Mackenzie Benson, Serena Tyler, Brock Benson and Arianna Tyler.

Recitation of Rosary will be Thursday, January 7, 2021 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church at 9:15 am. Mass of Christian burial will follow at 10:00 am. Contributions can be made to RSMCS, St. Mary campus. Serving the family, North Santiam Funeral Service, Stayton.
