FREE CONCERTS IN THE PARK

FREE CONCERTS IN THE PARK IN STAYTON: Bring your lawn chair.

This Summer, KENC Radio, Cartwright's Music & Repair Shop, The City of Stayton Parks and Recreation are proud to present FREE summer concerts in the park, known as The Mill Creek Concert Series. Located behind the Stayton public Library, just off First Avenue, will be the setting for this series of Thursday evenings concerts. Porta Potties will available for this concert series. Hamburgers and hot dogs will be available as well as cold drinks thanks to the Moose lodge of Stayton...  

The dates are July 24, July 31, August 14 and August 21, all on Thursdays and all are free. They all start at 6 PM and end at 8 PM...

The first concert July 24, is Joni Harms. Joni is America's reigning Queen of American western music, a Sony recording artist and a Oregon native and resident. She is sponsored in part by Holmes II Construction Company of Stayton.

The next concert is July 31, featuring Jake Jolliff and Wes Corbett. Jake is a mandolin major attending Berkley School of Music in Boston and is a young, major player in the world of mandolin playing. His partner is Wes Corbett, also a young major player in the world of banjos. Their program is jazz, swing, blues and some bluegrass. Sponsored in part by Cartwright's Music & Repair Shop and the Stayton Rotary club. 

The August concerts begin the second Thursday  on the 14th; featuring local jazz band and contemporary music group Cool Conspiracy, a five piece swing, jazz and  contemporary band with Patty Feltman on lead vocals.. A fine band, not too loud and with great vocals and instrumentals.... Sponsored by Stayton Cooperative Telephone Company.

The last concert is JR and the Farm...August 21 Not soft mellow music but an upbeat country rock band featuring Jessie Ruggles bringing our summer to an entertaining close. They call their music "Crunchy Western", I call it a lot fun that will have you up and dancing... Sponsored in part by Monte's Coins and More... 

Again, all concerts start at 6 PM and end at 8 PM...
