How to Join

Keizer Heritage Foundation, Inc. is an Oregon non-profit corporation organized in October 1988. Donations to KHF are tax deductible under IRC Section 501(c)(3).

Originally, KHF was formed to save "The Old School" from demolition, when the property was sold to a shopping center developer. Finally, after 11 years of hard work and community support, renovation was completed in November 1999.

Now, KHF’s goals have changed. Keizer Heritage Community Center’s operation costs are designed to be self-sufficient. The Keizer Heritage Museum opened in February 2000 and is a work in progress. Some of our funds will go towards development of this museum. Also, KHF pays part of the building operation rent each month. The Event Coordinators Committee handles renting the large rental room and the outdoor patio and gazebo for public and private events, which provides some income.

Another small source of income is the dues paid by members, which are used for newsletters, office expenses and miscellaneous expenses. These dues are vital to our organization. The backbone of Keizer Heritage Foundation is its members! Without them, KHF would not be able to operate the building, grow the museum, coordinate the meeting rooms and continue to serve the community. There are no paid employees or paid members for KHF. Our members volunteer for hosting events in our meeting room, landscape clean-up, meeting room setup and clean-up, manning the museum during operating hours, museum work parties, daily management of the building, and other work parties as needed. Also, Keizer Heritage Foundation has a Board of Directors and Officers necessary for this organization.
