Flying Field

A Union Pacific freight train, heading South, lumbers along the west side of the pit area.

This aerial view was taken in April, 1997, looking Northwest towards Turner, and Salem in the distance. The strip is just to the left of the big puddle in the bottom left corner of the brown field. Turner is about a mile North. Salem is about 5 miles Northwest as the crow flies.
