The Santiam Canyon Stampede was established in 1997 as a PRCA sanctioned rodeo. Following the 1999 season the rodeo was purchased by the community and re-organized as a nonprofit corporation. The re-organization produced the Stayton/Sublimity Rodeo Association, Inc. as the new owner of the Santiam Canyon Stampede.
The Stayton and Sublimity communities have a rich civic history of local residents joining together time and time again to raise the funds or resources required to fulfill a community need. Our rodeo is the newest entity to be established for the purpose of building on that long standing tradition of strengthening the community through volunteerism. The efforts of the volunteers that make our event possible will become the rewards of the entire community. In addition to any money that is distributed by the rodeo association to other local nonprofit organizations, we also provide donations to other non-profit fundraiser's in the area.
As the Santiam Canyon Stampede continues to prosper, so will the sport of rodeo, our community and its residents.

Location
Sublimity Harvest Festival Grounds. Hwy 22, 10 miles east of Salem, OR. Our closest metropolitan area is Salem, with a population of 150,000. Sublimity is located ten miles east of Salem at the foot of the Cascade mountains, in the heart of a rich agricultural region. This location allows us to draw from a large population base with a lot of rodeo savvy.
The rodeo is held at the Sublimity Harvest Festival grounds, home of the largest truck and tractor pull event in the Pacific Northwest. Using this permanent facility provides us with the opportunity to erect an arena at a local landmark that is not only easily adapted for our needs but is also easy to find and access.

Rodeo Kickoff Celebration
Saturday, July 23rd, 2010 at the Sublimity Harvest Festival Grounds.
Our kickoff party is the last chance for the volunteers and sponsors to gather for an evening of fun before the real work starts. Each year the kickoff has been a little different but it has always been an evening of relaxed socializing. It’s a great opportunity to come have something to eat and drink while getting to meet all of the people responsible for the upcoming rodeo. The kickoff takes place under the BIG tent at the rodeo grounds.
