Customer Comments
"Thank You From The Star Cinema Staff"

Thank you so much for opening a movie theater in Stayton. I really appreciate it. Before, we had to go into Salem and pay a bunch of money. I think your movie theater is much better than the Salem theaters. Your prices are better for movies and snacks. You're much more friendly than other places, and you make it a lot of fun because you give out a free prize at the end of every movie, too. On top of that, your food is better, and you make birthdays a lot more exciting by allowing peole to rent your theatrer. You can't rent the Salem theaters. To top it off you have great live shows like the "Little Opry in the Valley", and I love it how you put on old movies and fund raisers for the schools. Thank you for all the things that you do for Stayton and Sublimity. Your business is more than just a theater, it's part of the community.

We always wait to see our movies at Star Cinema if they're available. It's SO MUCH nicer than the big theaters in Salem. We don't like the very intrusive advertising at the beginning. Since they began the practice we have totally boycotted the theaters, so we depend on you for some of our movie entertainment. We think you're doing a TERRIFIC job. Many thanks!

I would like to thank the owners and staff of the Star Cinema in Stayton for the warm welcome and the best popcorn in the area. You took me back in time when I used to feel that an establishment really cared about my enjoyment and satisfaction. I'll definitely be back!

Just want to say that you guys are doing such a great job! I was so thrilled to see that you are offering show times throughout the week nights. It is an honor to have you as owners of the theater in our wonderful community.

To the Lovely People at the Star:
Thank you for the most wonderful, family-friendly, relaxing evening we've ever had at the movies! In this day and age it was like entering another time to be able to completely relax, to be treated graciously by your employees and to know we were in a completely family oriented environment for the evening.
Our two kids can't wait to return to your theater for another classic. I would clear my schedule and invite the world to any Frank Capra film you could get your hands on. Well, I'm certain you all don't have any shortage of suggestions or requests, but I just wanted to say we are grateful, as a family, to have had such a fantastic evening with your hospitality. I felt like it was all done just for me!

I would like to express my deepest gratitude and make a point of congratulating Jeff and Robin Mexico on their generosity and contributions to this community.

Recently, the Mexico's, via Star Cinema, presented a fund-raiser movie "Grease" for Shelby, my daughter, and Emma, two local swim team members who have earned the opportunity to represent the USA in swimming competition this July in Austrailia. Not only were they responsive in my request to help the girls earn money for the trip, but as an added touch, they provided the movie and contributed box office take to our fund-raising campaign.

The Mexico's are wonderful people and I am so grateful that they have joined our communty and re-opened the theatre here. If you haven't had a chance to visit the Star, make a point of taking in a movie. You will be greeted with smiles and consideration from the minute you hit the box office until the minute you leave the theatre.

Kudos to you, Jeff and Robin! You are terrific and we're glad to have you here!

Thank you so much for the fundraiser movie for Shelby and Emma. You guys are the greatest, and we truly do appreciate what you have done for us and for the community by bringing the Star theatre back. Bless You!

"What a pleasure it was to attend last Wednesday's Classic Movie event. My wife and daughter went with me to see one of my favorite all time movies..."North by Northwest". To see it on the big screen instead of a small box really changes your perspective on how these movies should always be seen. You're helping to introduce people to a whole new experience of watching Great movies the way they should always be seen. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!"

"I just wanted to let you know that I am going around, and telling all of my friends, and people that I don't even know about the Great Value you have when people see a movie at Star Cinema! Even with the new increase in prices it doesn't pay to go anywhere else. Even your concession prices are hard to beat. You make it a pleasure to go and watch movies again. My family came to watch "Lord of the Rings 3" after Christmas, and really enjoyed it. Great job on the new seating too! My wife and I will be there on Wed. Jan. 14th for the showing "North By Northwest". It will be the first time for me to see it on the big screen...can't wait to see it. Anyway just wanted you to know that it's great to find a theater you can take your family to and see first run movies, and not have to give away the farm to see it. Keep up the good work!"

"What a wonderful website you have. I will look forward to visiting it often as it is so informative!! I also want to say thank you for providing such a treasure to this town. As a mother of a 3 year old I appreciate the prices of admission as well as the popcorn!! I took Samantha to her first movie ever when you were playing "Finding Nemo" and the wonderful layout of the theater offered good seating no matter where we sat and when she stood up because of "toddler restlessness" she wasn't in anybody else's way. We have been to the movies a couple of more times at other theaters and did not have the overall great time like we did visiting the Star. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!"

"I want to say "thanks" for doing the Return of the Kings midnight opening on Tuesday/Wednesday -- it was wonderful to be able to get the tickets on line, pick them up so I had them in hand, make a 5 minute drive to the theatre, park 2 blocks away, and enjoy a wonderful movie with my son (so he could brag about it at school the next day!). I would not have done a midnight opening (or even opening week showing) in a Salem theatre, but doing it in Stayton kept it enjoyable, not stressful. I hope you found the venture as successful as we did in the audience...thanks again!"

"We visited your theater for the first time last Friday evening to see the movie "Radio". We thought the movie was great and have already recommended it to friends. But even more than that, we have told our friends about the neat personal & "home town" atmosphere that you and your theater offer the customer - and at affordable prices, too.
You are truly quality hosts and deserve to feel proud of your facility."

"Just thought I would drop you a compliment on the great first impression I had visiting your theatre. I have visited Stayton from the East Coast for 10 years but it wasn't until we moved here a few months
ago that we had the chance to come to "The Star".
The price couldn't be better for the great movie selection (Runaway Jury), reasonable concession prices, fabulous atmosphere, clean restrooms (yeah!!!), smiling staff and the winning ticket for a free
box of cookies!
You give this small town charm and we hope to see you again soon."

"Thanks for reopening the Star - each time we visit, we have a great time!"

"I saw a showing of X-Men 2 the other day, and it was the first time I had been to the Star since it reopened. I wanted to thank you for all the work you've put into it. I was impressed with the very friendly and helpful staff, the awesome iron railing, and the reasonable prices. Having the drawing for the movie poster was a nice touch. I was glad to get the X-Men gift (I'm not sure how many different ones there were... should have found others to go with me to get them all! ;) ), as well. All in all, a very enjoyable experience.
I also wanted to compliment you on your web site. It is always updated promptly, has good information, and is easy to navigate. Being able to go there to see what's going on this week, as well as what's coming in the future, is much appreciated."

"I was visiting my daughter last month in your town and we took in a movie. I was greatly impressed with your building. Your theater brought back a lot of memories of my boyhood in the fifties. We had a similar theater in my small (1500) hometown. It's nice to see the past persevered. Back here in my hometown we still have a drive-in theater that's in use every summer. This spring they added a second screen."

"Good luck with your theater. And thanks for the reminder of the past!"

"I'm a big fan of your theatre!"

"I'm a local and am very glad to see The Star open again. You have a great site too! I thought you might be interested in listing on FANDANGO too. The Star is listed on there but there isn't any information...If someone sees a movie playing at the Star they may not go into Salem!"

"My family and I just want to express our gratitude and appreciation for the two of you reopening the Star Cinema! You have done a beautiful job in remodeling and you are so cheery and friendly every time we visit!"
