Paintings

The following paintings have been selected from my continuously growing body of work. Each painting is the culmination of extensive preparation involving preliminary sketches and watercolor renderings. The time from start to finish can vary from several months to several years. The final oil painting usually requires three to four months, while the preparatory drawings may evolve over a period of years. It is during this process of drawing and the rendering of preliminary sketches that intuitive spontaneity occurs. I am most creative and open to the unexpected happenings that seem to spring from the end of the pencil during the drawing stage. This is where the excitement is. The final oil painting moves the drawing to completion and refinement.
