Chapter
XXXIIX

Tina had much of the contents of those storage chests out and spread around on various tables, stools and other available flat surfaces. All of the articles were clothing of one sort or another; made of the finest silks, satins, linens, velour, and leathers. All of the articles seemed to have one thing in common, they were all designed to leave the wearers body readily accessible to another sight and touch.

Tina was intrigued by much of what she had found in the attic; and was in the process of trying many of the pieces on, especially the leather ones. Tina was dressed only in a leather bodice, when Flow found her in the attic, and delivered the women's message to her.

Tina listened to the message and what Flow had to say about what the concubines below wanted from Tina. While she listened, the two of them got her out of the provocative leathers and put the stuff away. When Flow had finished talking, and Tina understood what the women really wanted her help and opinions of how best to secure Geof's willing help with their daring plans, Tina left for the women's living room. Not, however without some misgivings.

By the time Tina entered the women's living room her mind had been allowed enough time to conjure up several different reasons these women wanted to see her, and none of them ended in a way she wanted to have happen. Even with Flow's reassurances, Tina was in a high state of anxiety by the time she came to the living room.

Her nervousness was apparent in the timid way she entered, and her initial responses to Lana and the others questions.

Lana, "What can you tell us about Geof?"

Tina, "What do you mean?"

Lana, "We want to know if you think Geof will help us, or not?"

Tina, "I still don't really know what you want from me. If your asking if Geof will do as he's told, then yes, he will. He wants to live, so he'll do as he's told, if he can."

Lana was perplexed, Tina seemed to be missing the point on purpose.

Lana, "Didn't Flow explain to you what we wanted?"

Tina, "Yes, but it doesn't make any sense. Why do you need his trust and cooperation? What are you planning? As far as I can see, you have everything you wanted from him, what more can he do?"

Lana, "He can help us put a stop to the extinction of the human race."

Tina, "But that's what he's doing here, now."

Lana, "Yes, he is, but one man cannot do the job. We need many, just as we need many women. For this to work we need him to convince many men, not just a few, that this separation of men and women is wrong. We need him to protect us from the worst of the men when we leave here."

Tina, "Leave here?"

Lana, "Yes, leave here. If we stay here in the city, the Counsel will try to control the mating and there will be very few men willing to live like that. We need Geof to pave the way somehow. We need to know if we can depend on him because our lives will depend on him. More importantly, the survival of our race is in his hands as soon as we cross into the wilderness, and into the world of men."

Tina, "You plan on letting him go, and going with him?" Her tone was incredulous.

Lana, "Yes we do. It's the only way to escape the power of the Counsel, and their destructive, suffocating control."

Tina sat, of all the things she could ever have imagined the purpose of this meeting to be, what she had just heard, was not one of them. Tina simply sat, and finally said, "I think I need to think."

Lana, "All we want is your opinion on the best way to approach Geof. You are closest to him, and we want to know what you have learned about him. What is the best way to gain his trust, cooperation and if possible, dedication."

Soon Tina hit on what her answer was, "Try honesty. If there is one thing I know about him and what he responds to, it's honesty. All he really wants is the truth. It's what his mind is always searching for, even in his sleep. Any other way is sure to fail. Your best chance is to be honest with him about what you want, and why. Then accept what he says, even if you don't agree or like it. Honesty is the first step."

Lana took Tina's hand and guided her to the door, "Thank you Tina, we needed to hear what you had to say. Thank you." Tina was just about to turn and go out the door when Lana tightened her grip, "One last thing. Geof binds you as a captive when you are with him. Is that true?"

Tina blushed deeply at the question, "Yes, at times." she stammered.

"Does he hurt you."

"No. He never hurts me."

"And you trust him enough to allow him to tie you?"

"Yes."

"Willingly let him bind you?"

"Whenever he desires, he has never hurt me, and I don't believe he ever will."

"Thank you again, Tina. And Tina,"

"Yes."

"You are the sixth. If you wish, you can go with us, when we go."

There was nothing Lana could have said that would have made Tina happier, or more willing to try and convince Geof to go along with the women's plans. Nothing in the world.

Tina was walking on air as she ascended the stairs to Geof's apartment, went to the attic, put on the most provocative outfit she could build, then went down to the library, and Geof.

Geof didn't know it yet, but he was about to be seduced.

Not teased.

Not propositioned.

Seduced.
