You, the citizens of Oregon. We, your Legislators.
Has anyone kept up with what our elected representatives have been doing to overcome the problem of falling Oregon Lottery revenue? It doesnt appear to be tightening their belts. This past legislative session appears to have spent a great deal of time and effort combing the statutes and either increasing existing fees, or imposing new fees where there were none before.
It is the epitome of irony that on one hand our government, at all levels, wages its war on drugs, while at the same time Jonseing for its own drug of choice, money, so badly that absolutely no attention is paid to the constituencies repeated demands for economy in government.
But perhaps, We The People, have no one to blame except ourselves. We The People, have silently left the business of government to those others for so long. Perhaps if our legislators were playing to a full public gallery instead of just empty, silent, seats. Perhaps.
