Welcome to Vermae Persians, my name is Verla Dunn and I have been showing and breeding Persians since 1984. My husband, George and I live near Portland, Oregon. I showed silver persians for three years and then George decided that he also wanted to show. George decided on Burmese and got a lovely champagne female, since then we have been showing Persians and Burmese.

I got my first persian when I told a friend that I had always wanted a persian. She suggested that we go to a cat show to see what color I would like to have. I had never heard of a cat show, but off we went and that is where I saw my first Silver Persian. It was love at first sight, I thought that they were the most beautiful cats I had ever seen, I still love the beauty of the Silvers. The first cat that I granded was of my own breeding, a beautiful shaded silver male, GC RW Vermae Anthony.

After seven years of producing several Grands and showing Silvers I decided to try my hand at Bi-Colors. I loved having so many different colors in a litter after years of having only silvers. My first litter produced GC Vermae Phoenix , but the biggest thrill I had was when my beautiful dilute calico,GC RW Vermae Elizabeth, was the NWR 6th Best Kitten, NWR Best Long Hair Kitten, CFA Best Dilute Calico, and NWR Best Dilute Calico in 1998. I have granded many cats, but Elizabeth turned out to be the most rewarding and the most fun.

I have made many friends along the way and that is the best part of showing. I'm truly grateful to all the people that have given their friendship and support.
