| Notes for Patrick Daniel Mexico |
He was born in a small hospital on Cherry street near the railroad tracks of cork town in Treton, Mi. It eventually was turned into a convelescent home. I don't know what it is today, or if it is still standing.
When he was young in his teens he set pins at the bowling alley, caddy at the golf course. Fords Parts Truck Driver just out of 11th grade. Didn't graduate High School or get a GED. Then worked as a welders helper at a construction company. Then worked for Labadees Steel as a truck driver. Then worked for Fleetwood Cadillac building Cadillacs, then Worked most his life at Ford Motor Company in Michigan from 1965. Was also Auxiliary Policeman for Trenton Police during mid - late 60's. Signed up for Army but was under weight. Renee Rushlow was his girlfriend. Then Renee was Gerry Scharboneau's then Donny Rushlow married her eventually. Dad went to San Francisco and worked at an ice-skating rink for about a month, then back to Michigan and married Tanya Marie Smallwood.
When he married my Mom we lived on Dickinson street then eventually moved into the house on Fifth St. which eventually burned down from a kid (Cox) playing with matches in our shed.
When the house burned down we lived in Grandma Smallwoods house. Then my Mom / Dad split up due to his drinking and myself, my Mom and Brad moved into the VanHorn Apartments in Woodhaven.
Was suppose to visit me in Oregon in January 2004, but he drank too much New Years Eve and was found dead around 2pm January 1st. He died of a Heart Attack. He smoke and drank alot and didn't take care of his health. The family decided to have him cremated and placed in his fathers grave in Michigan Memorial Park in Flatrock, MI. The winter is very harsh in Michigan, so they waited until Spring to bury him. The family had a hard time coordinating a burial, so he sat in the funeral home until September of 2004 before he was finally layed to rest above his Father. |
